Hi I'm Susan. I am a fully qualified female Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
I have been an Advanced Driver for over 30 years and am passionate about road safety.
In my previous career I supervised and mentored younger colleagues and took great pride in seeing them grow in confidence and learn new skills. This and my love of driving is what attracted me to a career as a Driving Instructor.
I have lived in Ratho for 9 years and worked and lived in the West of Edinburgh for over 30 years. I know the area very well and with one of Edinburgh's Driver Test Centres close by, any students I teach will have the advantage of their lessons being in the areas where they will eventually sit their Driving Test.
After much research I chose to train with LDC, primarily because this company have maintained a family feel despite its large expansion over 30 years in the business, with over 500 instructors nationwide. Secondly because of the LD System they have developed.
The LD System focuses on coaching and training techniques and gives a clear picture of where students are in their journey to becoming a safe driver. Lessons are in small bite-size chunks that allow the student to master skills, mark them off in their Driving Skills Logbook and prepare and move on to their next lesson/goal, all the while being able to see clearly what they have achieved so far and what is remaining before they are test ready.
The LD System helps me to plan and prepare for lessons more efficiently and at a rate that suits the student.
Lessons will always be conducted in a calm, friendly and relaxed manner. These are your lessons that you pay for, so I will go at your pace and teach in a way that supports and assists you.
As a mother myself, I know that it is vitally important that parents/carers as well as the students themselves feel safe and secure in the knowledge that their Driving Instructor is trustworthy, professional and responsible. I can assure you I will do everything I can to make this new and exciting journey memorable, for all the right reasons.
